Setting up the platform

How long does it take to set up a platform for my publication?
We can set up your platform within a few weeks, and sometimes within days. We will send you details of the various things we need, and our technicians will get to work. Generally, we expect to be able to provide you with a test site for your approval within four weeks.
What if I want some bespoke changes?
We are happy to discuss any bespoke changes to the platform you would like, but obviously it will take longer to have a test site ready for your approval and there is a cost attached. How much, again obviously, depends on what you ask for.
Can I migrate existing manuscripts to the Amprep platform?
The Amprep platform has been carefully designed to receive manuscripts in a particular form so that they can be viewed by editors and reviewers on the Amprep page. Generally we expect you will find it easier to wind down your existing process rather than migrate your manuscripts to the Amprep platform.
Can I migrate my existing contributors’ information to the Amprep platform?
No. An important security feature of the system is that all new users must be actively involved in the process of registration. This protects both you and us, but it means that we cannot set up user accounts for your various contributors without their involvement.
The exception to this is accounts for editors. We will set up the accounts for editors, which can only be changed by contacting us. Once again, this is an important security feature to protect both you and us.
What about updates?
We are constantly working to improve the Amprep platform. When we make an update it will automatically be applied to your platform at no additional cost, unless you have commissioned bespoke changes, in which case we will contact you to let you know an update is available.
